New Couches and Shoes/ Nowe Kanapy i Buty

A couple of months ago, I bought new couches from IKEA.  I'm not a fan of leather couches, but I also don't like that cloth couches get dirty.  Well, IKEA solved all that for me by creating couches with changeable and machine washable couch covers.  They don't look like couch covers, but they are removable and washable.  I bought a couple of different styles, navy blue and flowered.  I had the blue on for the first couple of months, but I did not like it--too dark and dreary for me.  So for our 11^th  anniversary I asked Josh to change to my flowered covers and to put up my lace curtains, and I love it.  The room is bright and cheery and beautiful.  It reminds me a bit of the temple.

 

In other news, I am doing much better.  Pregnancy induced hypertension usually gets better during the second trimester.  My blood pressure is back to normal and I don't have to be on the medication for now.  My nausea is also gone, so the only things I have to deal with right now are: getting heavier, feeling tired, and the occasional pregnancy UTI and peeing blood.  All I have to say about that is how grateful I am for antibiotics.  The baby is doing fine, and had been diagnosed on the ultrasound as a girl once, and as a boy twice. 

 

The boys have yet another obsession with some small toys and cards called bacugan.  Since it's almost the end of school, and all year both Samuel and Isaiah have been getting excellent grades, and Nephi is very willing and enthusiastic about learning how to read, we decided to treat our kids and buy them the annoying bacugan toys and to take them to the movies to see Aliens vs. Monsters.  Everyone, but especially, Grace loved the movie because it was about a superhero girl.  It was very funny to the rest of us.  At the store the boys were very excited about their new toys, but Grace took no interest in them.  Grace is definitely not a follower and not a tomboy.  She has her own interests that are very different from the boys'.  At the store she only wanted a pair of pink princess glitter shoes, and when we got home she wanted me to photograph them!

Pare miesiecy temu kupialam nowe kanapy.  Ja nie lubie kanap zrobionych ze skury, ale tez nie lubie tego ze kanapy z materialu sie brudza.  Szwecki sklep IKEA produkuje kanapy z materialu ktore mozna prac i wymieniac na rozne kolory, wiec takie tez kupilam.   Kupilam ciemno niebieski material i tez jeden w kwiatki.  Przez pierwsze dwa miesiace mialam ciemno niebieski material, ale on mi sie nie podobal bo byl za ciemny i ponury.  Wiec poprosilam meza na nasza rocznice malrzenstwa aby on zmienil material na kanapach i aby powiesil mi firanki.  Teraz duzy pokuj wyglada pieknie, wesolo, i jasno.  Przypomina mi swiatynie.

 

Jesli chodzi o moje zdrowie, to lepiej sie czuje.  Wysokie cisnienie podczas ciazy najczesciej spada w czwartym, piatym, i szostym miesiacy ciazy.  Moje cisnienie teraz jest normalne, nie musze brac zadnych lekarwst.  Teraz tylko jestem ciezka, zmeczona, i nieraz mam krew w moczu.  Bardzo jestem wdzieczna za antybiotyki.  Diecko bardzo dobrze wyglada, raz mi lekarz powiedzial ze to dziewczynka i dwa razy mi powiedzial ze to chlopiec, wiec zobaczymy.

Moji chopcy maja nastepna obsesje.  Tym razem bardzo lubia sie bawic w male zabawki i karty ktore sie nazywaja "bacugan".   Mnie te zabawki denerwuja, ale za to ze moji chopcy sie bardzo dobrze  caly rok ucza i tez za to ze Nefi sie bardzo ladnie uczy czytac, to postanowilam im te zabawki kupic.  Tez w ten sam dzien poszlimsy z dziecmi do kina na dziecinny film "Kosmici vs Potwory".  Grace sie ten film bardzo podobal bo byl o superhero dziewczynce, i tez byl bardzo smieszny. 

 

W sklepie, Grace sie wcale nie interesowala zabawkami chopcow.  Ona nie nasladuje swoich braci.  Ona ma swoje wlasne zainteresowania i jest nie zalezna od nich.  W skepie ona tylko chciala kupic rozowe swieciace sie buty  dla ksiezniczki, a jak przyslimy do domu to mi kazala butom zrobic zdjecie!

Missoula Children's Theater/Teatr Dla Dzieci Missoula

Missoula Children's Theater

Samuel and Isaiah had a great opportunity to participate in a traveling children's theater.  It's a company based out of Montana, which travels all around the country putting on plays.  All the cast are the children that audition on a Monday, practice every weekday from 4:30 pm to 9 pm and then put on the performance on Saturday.  It was very time consuming for a week but Samuel and Isaiah loved every minute of it.  They are both now really interested in drama.  The play they were involved in was "Princess and the Pea", Isaiah was a tree barker, a citizen of Riverdom, and Samuel was an assistant director, helping prepare kids for the play and working backstage with the music, on performance day.  It was nice for my kids to practice with their friends, Ben, Michael, Kadin, Brooklyn, Sydney, and Kayla that were also involved in the play.

 

I'm attaching some pictures from before the play, Samuel working backstage, during and after the performance. 

 

Also, on the same day as the performance, Fort Gordon had a military kids' day celebration.  There were free rides and food for military kids.  Gracie and Nephi loved all the rides, especially the ponies.  Isaiah had fun running around and "battling" with his friend Kadin.  Enjoy the pictures!

Teatr Dla Dzieci Missoula

 

Samuel i Isaiah mieli okazje brac udzial w teatrze dla dzieci.  Teatr Missoula ze stanu Montana, jezdzi po calej Ameryce i w jeden tydzien przygotowuje dzieci do wystepu.  W poniedzialek wybiraja dzieci na przedstawienie, od wtorku do piatku od godziny 16:30 to 21:00 dzieci sie trenuja, a w sobote juz jest predstawienie.  Choc to zajelo nam duzo czasu w ten jeden tydzien, Samuel i Isaiah sie bardzo dobrze bawili.  Obydwoje oni teraz sa zainteresowani w teatrze.  Isaiah byl drzewem, a Samuel byl pomocnikiem rezysera.  Samuel pomagal dzieciom przygotowac sie na przedstawienie i w czasie przedstawienia pomagal z muzyka.  Samuela i Isaiah koledzy i kolerzanki Ben, Michael, Kadin, Brooklyn, Sydney, i Kayla tez brali udzial w tym wystepie.

 

Zalanczam kilka zdjec.  Jedno przed przedstawieniem, kilka z przedstawienia, no i jak Samuel pomaga z muzyka.

 

W ten sam dzien co przedstawienie, byl tez karnawal dla dzieci wojska.  Jedzenie i zabawy byly za darmo.  Nephi i Grace bardzo dobrze sie bawili i tez bardzo lubili jezdzic na kucykach.  Przeslylam zdjecia.  Na ostatnim Isaiah i jego kolega Kadin sie "bija".

Blessed With Friends

 

When I first moved to Iowa to Georgia, I hated life.  I didn't like my children's school, the cockroaches; my husband's long working hours, the lack of fun activities for kids, my ghetto surroundings, and the racism that still exists in the south.  I also didn't like my enormous church congregation where I could never find a seat, or hear, or run into the same person twice.

 

I must say I could have dealt with all that, had my dear friends from Iowa moved with me.  More than anything I missed my Iowa friends, as did my kids.  I just knew I could never find another:

Jolene(full of wisdom and charity),

Shirlene(sweet, without guile, with no ill feelings toward anyone),

Linda(full of love and good works),

Barb(the best and funnest person to talk to),

Marye(always serving everyone),

Toni (the best cook),

Krithika(my best friend),

Nancy(I pray every day pray to become like) or

Laura(supermom),

among many others. 

 

I brought a year's supply of Aldi's German chocolate from Iowa, but I was so depressed that I ate the entire 60 or so pounds in month.  It didn't help, I gained 10 pounds instead, and remained lonely and depressed, just like my kids…

 

The thought of leaving and going back to Iowa crossed my mind more than once.  But having lived 20 years as a person who trusts God, I knew I would do the right thing even if it killed me; so I stayed.

 

Soon enough, I moved into a brand new cockroach free house, and my church congregation got spilt and reorganized.  My kids and I made friends in our new neighborhood, and church.  Samuel has never been happier than when playing with Dillon; Isaiah could spend all day with Zach or Camden; Nephi met a great friend Nick and Gracie played next door with Alexis. 

 

Of course, in the military everyone moves all the time, but that just makes making friends easier.  I guess everyone is used to investing in relationships even if they will last only for a short time due to moving.  Samuel and Isaiah went through a grieving period when Dillon, Zach, Camden moved. They still talk about their old friends, but through prayer a new family with boys moved across the street.  Now they can't live without Tristan and Cameron. 

 

I love my neighbors Jill and Rachel, I miss Atthiya, and Jen from the old housing.  From church, I thought I couldn't live without Jessica's jokes, Staci's long talks, or Denise's great company, when they moved. 

 

But now I have the Fat Frumpy Five.  Ashley, Tina, Brandi, Stephanie, and I belong to the older crowd at church.  Most ladies in our congregation are in their early twenties.  We are 33 and over, with 3+ kids, so the fat sticks better to us.  We love to get together, stay up late, and talk, talk, talk, even argue in good humor.  A couple of weeks ago we went to a cabin over the weekend; just the ladies, no husbands or kids.  We laughed, we cried, we learned from each other, and above else we talked, all three days and most of the nights as well. 

Now, I am grateful for my move to Iowa and to Georgia.  I wouldn't want to live without knowing the women that I met here and there.

Blogoslawiona Przyjaciolmi

 

Na poczatku jak sie przeprowadzilam do stanu Georgia, to bylam bardzo smutna.  Nie podobala mi sie moich dzieci szkola, nie moglam zniesc kalaruchow, nie bylo tu fajnych rozrywek dla dzieci, moj maz za dlugo pracowal, duza czesc miasta tu wyglada jak getto, i tez tu na poludniu jeszcze jest racizm.  Moja gmnia w kosciele tez mi sie nie podobala bo byla bardzo za duza.  Nie bylo miejsca gdzie usiasc, trudno bylo cos uslyszec, i tez trudno bylo spotkac te sama osobe dwa razy pod rzad.

 

Nie bylboby tak mi zle nawet w tej sytulacji jesli ze mna by sie  moje przyjaciolki z Iowa przeprowadzily.  Najgorsza czesc przeprowadzki dla mnie byla separacja od moich przyjaciolek. Tak tez moje dzieci sie czuly bez ich przyjaciol.   Myslalam ze ja juz nigdy nie znajde takiej dobrej przyjacioki jak Jolene, Shirlene, Linda, Barb, Marye, Toni, Krithika, Nancy, i Laura.  Lub nawet wiele innych ktorych znalam w stanie Iowa.   W Iowa byl Niemiecki skep Aldi z prawdziwa Niemiecka czekolada.  Tu w Georgia nie ma takiego sklepu wiec ja przywiozlam ze soba okolo 30 kg czekolady, abym miala na caly rok.  Ale bylam taka smutna i samotna jak tu przyjechalam ze zjadlam cale 30 kg w jeden miesiac.  Nic mi to nie jedzenie nie pomoglo, zato dodalam 5 kg na wadze.  Nadal bylam samotna i smutna tak jak moje dzieci.

 

Kilka razy myslam o powrocie do stanu Iowa.  Ale ja wiedzialam ze to nie bylo wola Boga.  Przez ostanie 20 lat ja ufam Bogu, wiec zostalam tu w stanie Georgia.

 

Nie dlugo po przyjedzie tu przeprowadzilam sie do nowo zbudowanego domu bez kalaruchow.  Moja gmina w kosciele zostala podzielona.  Ja i moja rodzina na nowym osiedlu i w nowym kosciele poznalismy wiele przyjaciol.  Do tego dnia Samuela ulubiony przyjaciel to Dillon, a Isaiah codziennie sie bawil z Zach i Camden.  Nephi poznal dobrego przyjaciela Nick, a Grace codziennie sie bawila z dziewczynka Alexis. 

 

Oczywiscie w wojsku wszyscy sie czesto przeprowadzaja.  Ale to pomaga w poznawaniu przyjaciol.  Od razu ludzie chca inwestowac czas w poznawanie nowych przyjaciol bo wiedza ze nie maja za duzo czasu przed nastepna przeprowadzka.    Samuel i Isaiah byli bardzo smutni jak ich przyjaciele Dillon, Zach, i Camden sie przeprowadzili.  Ale po modlitwie nowi chopcy sie sprowadzili.  Teraz Samuel i Isaiah nie moga zyc bez Tristan i Cameron. 

 

Ja kocham moje sasiadki Jill i Rachel.  Tez tesknie za sasiadkami Jen i Atthiya ze starego osiedla.  Z kosciola bardzo tesknie za Jessica ktora swietnie zartowala, Staci ktora fajnie i dlugo gadala, i Denise z ktora swietnie spedzalo sie czas.  Niestety one tez sie przeprowadzily.

Ale zato ja teraz mam 5 Starszych Grubych Pan.  Tak ja i moje kolerzani (Ashley, Tina, Brandi, i Stephanie) sie same nazwalysmy.  W  naszej gmninie w kosciele wiekszosc kobiet  jest bardzo mlodych i chudych.  My jestesmy starsze panie bo mamy 33+ lata.  Tez mamy 3+ dzieci wiec mamy wiecej tluszczu na ciele.  Bardzo lubimy spedzac czas razem.  Pare tygodni temu pojechalysmy na male wakacje bez mezow lub dzieci nad jezioro.  Bylysmy tam 3 dni, i gadalysmy cale te trzy dni i dwie noce.  Duzo sie smialysmy, nawet troche plakalysmy, i od siebie tez duzo sie nauczylysmy. 

 

Teraz jestem wdzieczna z przeprowadzke do stanu Iowa i do stanu Georgia.  Nie chcialam bym zyc bez moich przjaciolek ktore spokalam tam i tu.

Obsession/Obsesja

Lately Samuel and Isaiah have a new obsession.  They love a series of books called Naruto. It's a black and white graphic novel that doesn't even have very good pictures.  I was introduced to it by my friend Melinda. It's weird, but the boys read it over and over again and then they act it out on the trampoline.  Perhaps if you have boys their age or older, you may be interested.

On a different note, my friend Laura had these interesting questions on her blog.  I made sure to ask my youngest one first so that he wouldn't borrow his answers from the older ones.  I thought it was really funny and interesting how the answers turned out.  So here my kids speak out about me, their mother.

Od  niedawna Samuel i Isaiah maja nowa obsesje.  Bardzo lubia czytac serie ksiazek Naruto.  To wlasciwie nie ksiazki ale komiksy.  Nawet nie maja ladnych kolorowych obrazkow tylko czarno biale, ale moji synowie czytaja kazdy komiks po kilka razy tez na trampolinie bawia sie w to o czym przeczytali.  Moze komus z was te komisky tez by sie podobaly. Mi nie za bardzo.

 

Zmieniajac temat, moja kolezanka Laura miala te pytania na swojej stronie internetowej na ktore jej dzieci odpowiedzialy.  Ja tez zapytalam sie moich dzieci te pytania.  Oczywiscie zapytalam najmlodszego najpierw zeby nie powtarzal to co starsi powiedzieli.  Wiec tu sa moich dzieci odpowiedzi o mnie, ich matce.
