Decorating for Halloween

 

For the last 4 years the kids have been asking me to decorate the outside of our house for Halloween.  I never did it, because I did not have the money, and I did not know how to decorate without making the house look dark and gory.

 

There are two schools of thought about exposing kids to the gross and gruesome.   The first is to protect our children from exposure and to avoid it at all cost.  The second is to let them look at skeletons and goblins once a year on Halloween, so that they can get the curiosity out of their system and go on with their merry lives for the rest of the year. 

 

I have not decided exactly what I believe on the subject, but I know that I don't like looking at devils or bloody chopped up bodies myself, so I try to avoid that kind of stuff.  I also decided not to let my kids dress up as very evil characters (with the exception of Darth Vader…because he does change at the very end, and because it's too hard to argue against Star Wars when you have 3 boys.)

 

But anyway, this year I decided to finally give in and decorate. I took my friend Ashley along to help me shop.  We bought a pumpkin, some orange lights, spider webs, a large spider, and a ghost….and then there was the skeleton.  I hesitated.  If I bought the skeleton would I send the message that dead people with chopped of heads are ok too? No, they are not, so where is the line? Then Ashley solved my problem by finding a sign that said "Autopsy Room".  And then it came to me like a revelation.  I could hang the sign, the skeleton, and a picture of my husband, the wacky doctor!

 

I really enjoy Halloween here on Fort Gordon.  The weather stays warm, almost everyone give out candy and decorates, kids and grow-ups dress up, and tons of kids come around.  It is a happy time.  One of our neighbors goes really out.  Last year he was a very handsome Frankenstein, and this year he was Elvis.  He made everyone dance and sing before they could have some candy. 

 

Since moving here Josh and I decided to dress up every year.  This year Josh was the Avatar Aang and I was Katara, characters from our all time favorite TV show—the Avatar.  Avatar is Grace's, Nephi's, Isaiah's, Samuel's, Joshua's and my all time favorite show.  I normally don't buy movies(a big waste of money), but we bought all 3 seasons of Avatar and we watch it all the time! 

 

Samuel and Isaiah wore their favorite costumes that grandma sewed for them, the Egyptian god Horus, and the bat.  Nephi is still on the Spiderman kick, and Grace was supposed to be a witch ballerina, but she misplaced her hat.  After we made our rounds, Nephi's favorite thing was sitting on the porch and giving out candy, while Samuel and Isaiah played outside with their friends.

Dekoracje na Halloween

 

Przez ostatnie 4 lata dzieci mnie prosza abym udekorowala zewnatrz naszego domu na Halloween.  Do teraz nigdy tego nie zrobilam bo nie mialam na to pieniedzy i tez nie wiedzialam jak to zrobic bez wstretnych zeczy jak smierc, krew, itd.

 

Dobrzy rodzice maja najrozniejsze opinie o strachach na Halloween.  Niektorzy nie chca dzieciom nic strasznego lub wstretnego pokazywac.  Inni mysla ze jeli raz na rok dzieci popatrza na strachy to nie beda reszte roku tym zafascynowane.

 

Ja nie wiem jaka jest moja opinia na ten temat, ale ja sama nie lubie bardzo wstretnych zeczy jak diably lub ciala bez glowy z ktorych krew leci.  Ja tez zadecydowalam ze moje dzieci nie moga sie przebierac za bardzo niegodziwe postacie (oproz Darth Vader z filmu Star Wars ?Wojna Gwiazd?, bo Darth Vader na koncu sie zmienil, no i tez ja nie chce sie klocic o film Star Wars z trzema synami. )

 

No, ale w tym roku zdecydowalam kupic dekoracje na Halloween.  Poszlam z kolezanka Ashley do sklepu.  Kupilam dynie, pomaranczowe swiatelka, pajaka, pajeczyne, ducha…i zobaczylam kosciotrupa.  Zawachalam sie.  Jesli bym kupila kosciotrupa, to myslalyby moje dzieci ze krwawi ludzie bez glowy to tez ok dekoracja?  Nie takich dekoracji u nas nie wolno, wiec gdzie jest granica?  Ale zaraz Ashley mi pomogla bo znalaza napis " Pokoj Autopsji". I wtedy mialam pomysl jak udekorowac nasze drzwi z tym napisem , z kosciotrupem, i ze zdjeciem mojego meza-- szalonego lekarza autopsji. 

 

Ja bardzo lubie Halloween tu na bazie Fort Gordon.  Jest zawsze cieplo, duzo ludzi rozdaje cukierki, dzieci i dorosli sie przebieraja, i bardzo duzo dzieci chodzi od domu do domu po cukierki.  Tu jest bardzo wesolo.  Jeden naszych sasiad bardzo swietnie sie przebiera. W ostanim roku byl przystojnym Frankenstainem, a w tym roku byl przebrany jak Elvis.  Kazal kazdemu potanczyc i zaspiewac przed otrzymaniem cukierkow.

 

Po przeprowadze tu do Fort Gordon Josh i ja zdecydowalismy sie tez przebierac na Halloween.  Josh byl postacia Avatar Aang, a ja bylam Katara tez z tego samego programu telewizijnego "Avatar".  My nie ogladamy telewizora ale kupilismy ten program na dyskach, choc ja nie kupuje filmow. Ale to jest naszej calej rodziny ulbiony program.  2 letnia Grace tak samo to lubi jak 32 lenti Joshua.  Zawsze ten program ogladamy.    

 

Samuel i Isaiah przebrali sie w stroje ktore babcia Nancy im uszyla pare lat temu--Egipski bog Horus i nietoperz.  Nefi nadal jest Spiderman, a Grace miala byc babajaga balerina ale zgubila swoj kapelusz.  Jak zebralismy troche cukierkow, to Samule i Isaiah bawily sie na dworzy z kolegami, a Nefi bardzo lubil rozdawac cukierki.

35th Birthday/35te Urodziny

35^th Birthday

 

In a few days I will have my 35^th Birthday.  I normally don't pay attention to how I'm aging, because I like getting older.  Every year that I'm older, I'm a better person and I am happier.  I don't categorize my life into the teens, the twenties, the thirties, ect.

 

Having said that, I do however still remember walking into an OB's office for the first time and reading a sign that read "Women shouldn't have babies after 35…..35 babies are enough!"

 

Yes, I get the joke, but turning 35 has made me reflect on the reality that my child bearing years will come to an end.  And even though having and raising children is very hard, it is also the best part of life and I'm not sure I want it to be over just yet...

 

…and have you met my children?  They are all so handsome, good, and smart.  Who wouldn't want more of them?!

35-te Urodziny

 

Za pare dni bede miala  moje 35 urodziny.  Najczesciej nie zwracam uwagi na to ze ja sie starzeje, bo ja lubie sie starzec.  Kazdego roku jestem lepsza osoba i jestem bardziej szczesliwa.  Nie kategoruje mojego zycia, w nastolatki, dwudzieski, trzydzieski, itd. 

 

Ale ja pamietam jak pierwszy raz poszlam do lekarza plolznika i on mial napis w poczekalni na ktorym bylo napisane:  "Kobiety nie powinny miec dzieci po 35…….35 dzieci starczy!"

 

Ja wiem ze to jest zart, ale ja tez wiem ze ja bede miala 35 lat i ze moja szansa na wiecej dzieci sie niedlugo skonczy.  Ja zgadzam sie ze rodzenie i wychowywanie dzieci to bardzo trudna i ciezka sprawa, ale to jest tez najelpsza czesc zycia.  Nie wiem czy jestem gotowa zakaczyc te czesc mojego zycia…

 

…zreszta popatrz na moje dzieci!  Wszystkie sa takie piekne, dobre, i madre.  Kto by nie chcial wiecej ich?!

Biking/Na Rowerach

Biking

 

I still use a car for to drive the little kids around and to shop, but half of my family no longer uses a car for everyday transportation.  Samuel and Isaiah bike a round trip of 5 miles to school and back.  There is only a short stretch of sidewalk, so the boys have to ride on grass and sand most of the way.  Twice a week in addition to having to ride with heavy backpacks, Samuel hauls his violin on his back as well. 

 

Last month we decided to spend less money on gas, so Josh biked everyday to work, also 2.5 miles away.  He really enjoyed the fresh air and exercise, not to mention the money we saved on gas. 

 

My father bought fancy, light weight, 300 dollar bicycles for Samuel and Isaiah when he last visited.  He also bought a very nice light road bike for Josh.  Josh was instantly converted from mountain biking to road biking. 

 

When Josh has a day off he rides with the boys to school for fun.  Nephi sometime joins Josh on the tandem.   

 

Enjoy the pictures of the boys biking and some by Euchee Creek when we found a huge turtle with our friend Kadin…it was 50 or 60 degrees but the boys went swimming anyway!

Na Rowerach

 

Mi jest samochod potrzebny bo mam male dzieci do worzenia a tu nie ma autobusow ani tramwajow i tez wszytko jest bardzo daleko od bazy wojskowej.  Ale polowa mojej rodziny nie urzywa samochodu na codzien.  Samuel i Isaiah jezdza do szkoly i spowrotem na rowerze 8 kilometrow.  Jak chlopcy jada na rowerach to maja ciezkie plecaki na plecach i tez dwa razy w tygodniu Samuel ma skrzypce na plecach, bo w szkole uczy sie grac na skrzypcach.

 

W ostatnim miesiacy moj maz pracowal tu w szpitalu na bazie wojskowej i wiec tez jedzil rowerem 8 kilometrow na dzien.  W tym miesiacu u nas byla bardzo droga bezyna, wiec duzo pieniedzy zaoszczedzilismy jak Josh nie urzywal samochodu.  Jesli Josh nie pracuje jakiegos dnia, to on jedzi on z dziecmi do szkoly.  Nieraz nawet dolacza Nephi do swojego roweru i razem jada. 

 

Moj ojciec kupil dla Josha bardzo dobry urzywany rower do ulicy.  Josh mial rower do jezdzenia po gorach ale teraz on lepiej lubi rower do ulicy.  Moj ojciec tez kupil drogie rowery po 300 dolarow dla moich starszych synow.  Oni jezdza 40 kilometrow na tydzien. 

 

Zalaczam zdjecia chlopakow na rowerach….i tez nad strumykiem gdzie z kolega Kadin znalezlismy wielkiego zluwia.  Bylo tylko 10 lub 15 stopni ale chlopaki i tak plywali!

I am very hesitant to use new technology, mainly because it takes time to learn how to use it, and when I spend more time on the computer I spend less times with my kids. 

 

But I decided to branch out and learn a few things.  First, my brother in law Daniel, just bought/created a company called OurStory.com  .  This site has a free registration and it lets you write down stories from your life and it organizes them chronologically.  You can connect to friends and family and your public stories can be emailed to them.  You also have the option to print the stories in a book for a very small fee. 

 

I have had a great time getting to know my family better by reading snippets about their lives.  Their stories have already influenced me and my kids for good.  My sister Kinga has been writing her life story down and it has been fun to read and reflect upon my own life through her stories. 

 

I plan to write my life story on OurStory.com.  I haven't added much to my story yet because there is only so much time I have in the day and I have been learning how to use the site.  I you would like to be invited to read my stories on that site, let me know and I'll send you an invite.

 

Also with my friend Tina's help I put together a blog.  My emails simply get sent to my blog and they post automatically.  In my blogroll I have tried to include everyone's blog but I could be missing a few blog addresses.  If you are missing from my list please let me know.  You are welcome to add my blog to your blogroll.

Ja nie lubie sie uczyc urzywac nowych programow  na komputerze, bo to zajmuje za duzo czasu.  Jesli spedzam wiecej czasu na komputerze to spedzam mniej czasu z moimi dziecmi i tego nie lubie.

 

Ale postanowilam nauczyc sie dwoch nowych zeczy.  Mojego meza brat Daniel niedawno kupil kompanie ktora nazywa sie OurStory.com   To jest storna internetwa na korej mozna pisac w swoim dzienniku i ta stora to organizuje i wysyla email to rodziny i przyjaciol ze tam jest cos nowego do czytania.  Tez za 15 dolarow moza to wszytko wydrukowac w ksiazke.

 

Wiele ludzi z mojego meza rodziny pisze o swoim zyciu na tej stronie.  Kinga tez pisze o swoim zyciu tam po Angielsku.  Mi sie bardzo podoba czytac doswiadzczeniach mojej i mojego meza rodziny.  Duza ja i moje dzieci sie od tego juz nauczylismy.

 

Ja tez napisze historie mojego zycia tam, ale jeszcze nie zaczelam bo ucze sie jak ta strone uzywac.

 

Tez moja kolezanka Tina pomogla mi zrobic moj wlasny blog (storna internetowa).  Tam pisze po Angielsku i po Polsku.  Wszytkie moje email tam sa slane i publikowane.

Piano/Pianino

One of the great regrets of my husband's life is that he never took the time to learn how to play the piano or any musical instrument from his mom.  Josh says music is like a foreign language and that he missed out on his opportunity.  Now he is much too busy to learn anything other than medicine.

 

I never had the chance to learn music, so I decided that I had to give my kids the opportunity.  For a long time I felt that they were too young to practice without nagging, so I was not willing to start.  Then about a year ago, my friend Joe sent me a youtube video of his son playing the piano.  It was incredible.  Also I heard Kinga's kids play a bit while we were in Utah and I was pleased. 

 

I also thought about how Samuel has become a very responsible kid.  I never have to remind him to do anything, not even his homework.  Last year I never even looked at his homework and he got the highest average in his class. 

 

Every morning Samuel gets up at 6 am.  He showers, gets dressed, reads his scriptures, then he reads or plays on the computer.  At 7:15 am he sets up breakfast and then wakes me and Isaiah up to get ready for school.    

 

So I decided that Samuel was definitely ready to practice piano without being reminded, but alas, I could not find a teacher.  I prayed for a teacher to move on post, but none did.  Then one evening during a lady's night out I convinced my friend Stephanie to teach piano like she used to.  She agreed and she was even willing to come to my house to teach as soon as I bought a piano.

 

I soon found out that pianos are very expensive.  I thought about buying a cheap digital piano, but I did not like the sound.  Then Stephanie went to work for me, researching used pianos for sale.  She rode around town with me several times checking out pianos.  We finally found a good quality piano in perfect condition and I bought it for 650 dollars.   Josh and his friends Jeremy and Steve moved it into our home and it sounds beautiful!   

 

About this time Isaiah started having a hard time is school.  Not because he wasn't smart, but because he would space out, daydream and not do his work.  Both Samuel and Isaiah are in the gifted program, so once a week Isaiah gets to go a different school and do fun challenging things.  He loves that part of school.  But in order to stay in the program he has to get good grades at Prison Park Elementary.  And not doing his work could cause him to be kicked out of the gifted program... 

 

Both Josh and I became worried about what we could do to help Isaiah concentrate.  We tried a few things but they weren't working.  So we decided to pray for guidance.  The next day at dinner I announced that I got an answer to my prayer that Isaiah should take piano to help him focus.  Josh piped up and said that he got that very same answer.  We were both surprised that piano would be the answer because neither of us thought that Isaiah was ready to practice all the time. 

 

We followed our promptings and got Isaiah taking lessons too.  Now Isaiah is doing great in school finishing all of his work. 

 

I included a couple of pictures of our piano.  Notice the family bug collection above.  Also included is a picture of Isaiah with a landforms project, one of Samuel as the Greek god Apollo in his gifted class, and a picture of Josh and Gracie from our vacation.

Pianino

 

Mojego meza mama gra na pianinie i ona nauczyla kilka jego brac i siostr grac.  Ale moj maz nie byl tym zainteresowany jak byl mlody i teraz bardzo zaluje ze nigdy nie nauczyl sie grac na pianinie.  Josh mowi ze muzyka to jak obcy jezyk, i jest mu zal ze tego jezyka nie zna. 

 

Ja tez nic nie wiem o muzyce, wiec chcialam dac moim dzieciom okazje sie nauczyc grac na pianinie.  Ale tez nie chialam caly dzien zrzedzac i przypominac moim dzieciom aby trenowaly.  Wiec zdecydowalam o tym na razie nie myslec.

 

Ale kilka miesiecy temu moj kolege przeslalm mi youtube video jak jego sym przepieknie gra na pianinie.  Tez jak bylam w Utah to slyszalam jak Kingi dziedzi troche graly na pianinie.  To mi sie bardzo podobalo.

 

Ja tez pomyslalam o tym, jakim odpowiedzialnym chlopcem moj syn Samuel jest.  Ja mu nigdy o niczym nie musze przypominac.  Nigdy mu  nie przypominal o odrabianiu lekcji.  W ostatnim roku ja nigdy nawet nie popatrzylam na jego lekcje.  Nie tylko on wszytkie lekcje zrobil ale on tez mial najlepsze stopnie w calej swojej klasie. 

 

Codziennie Samuel sie budzi o 6:00 rano.  On myje sie pod  prysznicem, ubiera sie, i czyta swoje pismo swiete.  Potem czyta ksiazki lub bawi sie na komputerze.  Potem on ustawia jedzenie na sniadanie i  o 7:15 on budzi mnie i Isaiah aby on sie przygotowal do szkoly i abym ja przygotowala im woreczki z obiadem do szkoly.  

 

Wiec ja zdeczydowalam ze Samuel jest wytarczajaco odpowiedzialny aby codziennie trenowac na pianinie.  Wiec probowalam znalesc nauczycielke niedaleko nas, ale zadnej nie bylo.  Pomodlilam sie aby jakas nauczycielka sie sprowadzila.  Tez nic.  A potem jednego wieczoru moja kolerzanka powiedziala mi ze ona kiedys uczyla dzieci grac na pianinie.  Ona teraz uczy gry innego insturmentu.  Poprosilam ja aby Samuela uczyla i sie zgodzila.  Nawet powiedziala ze przyjedzie do mojego domu go uczyc!

 

Musialam kupic pianinio.  To jest bardzo drogie.  Okolo 4 tysiace dolarow.  Myslalam ze moze kupie tansze cyfrowe pianino ale dzwiek mi sie nie podobal.  Wie moja kolezanaka i nauczycielka Stephanie zaczela mi szukac urzywanego pianina.  Duzo czasu nad tym spedzila.  Po calym miescie jedzilismy i ona probowala czy te instrumenty mialy dobra jakosc.  Po kilku tygodniach znalazlysmy bardzo dobrej jakosci pianino za 650 dolarow.  Moj maz z kolegami przywiezli je do naszego domu.  Jest to wysmienite pianino i ma piekny dzwiek!

 

W tym czasie Isaiah zaczol miec problemy w szkole.  On jest bardzo madry ale on tez lubi sobie marzyc.  Jak tak sobie marzyl w szkole to nie konczyl swoich zadan.  Samuel i Isaiah chodza w srody do innej szkoly dla dzieci utalentowanych.  Isaiah bardzo lubi tam chodzic bo zadania sa bardziej interesujace i trudniejsze.  Ale on moze byc wyrzucony z tego programu jesli on nie bedzie konczyl swoich zadan w normalnej szkole. 

 

Josh i ja sie martwilismy o Isaiah i probowalimsy mu pomoc, ale nic sie nie zmienilo.  Wiec pomodlismy sie o pomysl jak mu pomuc.  Nastepnego dnia wczasie obiadu powiedzialam rodzinie ze ja dostalam pomysl jak pomoc Isaiah sie koncentrowac- on tez musi sie uczyc grac na pianinie.  Josh odrazu powiedzial ze jak on sie modlil to on tez dostal taka sama odpowiedz.

 

Wiec obydwoje chloply ucza sie grac na pianinie i Isaiah juz nie ma zadznych problemow w szkole.  Bardzo dobrze teraz sie koncentruje.

 

Zalaczam pare zdjec naszego pianina.  Nad pianinem nasza kolekcja robakow.  Tez zdjecie Isaiah z jego projektem z plasteliny.  Samuel w klasie dla utalentowanych przebrany jako bog Grecki Apollo.  No i jeszcze jedno zdjecie z naszych wakacji.

Mandatory Vacation/Obowiazkowe Wakacje

Mandatory Vacation

Every year Joshua's residency program has a mandatory vacation that we must attend.  They pick the place, the hotel, the place to eat dinner, but we are responsible to pay for it all.  This year the weekend vacation was held in Asheville North Carolina.  It was about a 4 hour drive and so we decided to make the most of the trip and see lots to sights.  At one point we had to stop because Grace threw up and Isaiah noticed an awesome spider eating its prey.  I had to take a picture.

 

On Friday we visited a beautiful quaint town in the Blue Ridge Mountains called Chimney Rock.  It had spectacular views and wonderful hikes.  We hike to a waterfall and took and elevator 25 stories to Chimney Rock itself.  The view was so inspiring that I could have sat on that rock all day.  All the kids hiked on very steep inclines for about 3 and a half hours, including Nephi and Grace.  We were very impressed with them.  On the way out of Chimney Rock we stopped at an apple farm and ate the best apples in the world.  I love fresh apples straight from the trees instead of grocery store apples that sit in coolers for up to 5 years.  My new favorite kind is the Mutsu apple.  The kids really enjoyed the Empire variety. 

 

In Asheville we went to a Mediterranean Restaurant that featured belly dancing, dining in a tent, and sitting on the floor.  Pop and Samuel ordered marinated lamb, I ordered a vegetarian platter with humus, and Isaiah ate some beef kabobs.  Nephi and Grace ate mostly pita bread and fresh mozzarella cheese.  Grace really enjoyed watching the belly dancer.  After the restaurant, outside,  we found a drum circle and a street dance, so we joined in. 

 

The next day Joshua work had some games organized and at a park and Samuel and Isaiah really enjoyed playing soccer.  After that we visited a Nature Center that featured animals that live in North Carolina.  We saw black bears, wolves, bobcats, turtles, and cougars.  In addition to the wild animals, the nature Center also had a petting zoo.  Everyone enjoyed petting the sheep and goats, but Grace enjoyed looking at the chickens best. 

 

Asheville's most famous attraction is the Biltmore estate and I figured we better go and see it since we'll probably never pass through Asheville again.  The Biltmore mansion is the biggest house in the United States and it reminded me of an average European castle.   Some of the fun features that were different from and European castle were: an indoor swimming pool, and indoor bowling alley, and gym with wooden dumbbells.  It was a bit stressful to tour a fancy house with small children where they could not touch anything, but we survived. 

 

We ended the weekend by having dinner at the Fiddlin' Pig where Nephi and Grace really enjoyed dancing to live fiddle music.

 

Before visiting, I imagined Asheville to be a small quaint town settled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, but it turned out to be just another big American city with very few mountain views.  Chimney Rock was the small quaint town that I imagined so I would recommend Chimney Rock with its spectacular views any day over Asheville, if you are ever in the area…

Obowiazkowe Wakacje

 

Kazdego roku mojego meza praca organizuje nam obowiazkowe wakacje na jeden weekend.  Oni decyduja gdzie jedziemy, w jakim hotelu spimy, i gdzie jeden obiad jemy, a my za to wszytko musimy sami zaplacic.  W tym roku pojechalismy do miasta Asheville, w stanie North Carolina w gorach.  To jest okolo 4 godziny od nas samochodem.  Po drodze Grace zwymiotowala wiec musielsmy sie zatrzymac.  Jak wysiedlismy z samochodu to Isaiah zauwarzyl wielkiego pajaka co jadl konika polnego.  Tak nam sie to podobalo ze zrobilam mu zdjecie. 

 

W piatek pojechalismy do malego miasteczka Chimney Rock aby popatrzec na gory i skaly i przepiekne widoki gor Blue Ridge.  Tam bylo przepieknie.  Chodzilismy po gorach 3 i pol godziny.  Nawet Grace i Nefi sami tak dlugo chodzili.  Bardzo nam sie podobaly gory i wodospad.  Po tym pojechalismy do sadu i kupilismy swierze jablka.  Ja bardzo lubie swierze jablka, nie takie ze skelpu kotre moga lezec w lodowce az piec lat.  Moj nowy ulubiony gatunek to jablko "Mutsu".

 

Jak dojechalismy do Asheville to poszlismy do srodziemnomorskiej restauracji.  Jedlismy owce siedzac na podlodze w pokoju co byl udekorowany jako namiot.  Tam tez pani tanczyla taniec brzucha.  Grace to sie bardzo podobalo.  Zreszta wszytkim dzieciom atmosfera w restauracji sie podobala no i tez wszycy duzo zjedli wiec jedzenie bylo smaczne.  Po restauracji poszlismy na dwor potanczyc na ulicy.  Tam duzo ludzi gralo na bebenach i tanczylo. 

 

Nastepnego dnia poszlismy do parku gdzie mojego meza praca zorganizowala gry i zabawy.  Samuel i Isaiah lubili grac w pilke nozna.  Po grach poszlismy do Srodowiska Natury ogladac zwierzeta ktore mieszkaja w North Carolina.  Ogladalismy czarne niedzwiedzie, rysie, zlowie, wilki, i pumy.  Tez byly tam zwierzeta domowe, kury, osly, barany, kozy, itd.  Grace najbardziej sie podobaly kury, no i wszycy lubili owce dotykac i karmic.

 

Najslawniesza atrakcja w Asheville to najwiekszy dom w Ameryce ktory nazywa sie Biltmore.  Wyglada jak przecietny palac w Europie.  Pare zeczy kotre byly inne niz w palacu to: bardzo starodawny basen w srodku domu, starodawna kregielnia, i sala gimnastyczna co miala drewniane ciezarki.  Nie bylo tak fajnie z malymi dziecmi zwiedzac 'palac' bo nie wolno im bylo nic dotykac, no ale wytrwalismy.

 

W ostani wieczor 'wakacji' poszlismy na obiad ze wszytkimi czlonkami mojego meza pracy, do restauracji w kotrej byla podloga do tancu i tez zespol gral na skrzypcach i gitarach starodawne piosenki.  Grace i Nefi bardzo chetnie tanczyli, no i ja troche tez. 

 

Przed wyjazdem, ja myslalam ze Asheville to male miasteczko w gorach, bo tak to na internecie wygladalo.  Ale Asheville to normalne duze Amerykanskie miasto.  Za to Chimney Rock to bylo male miasteczko w gorach.  Ja wole na wakacje jechac do przyrody  wiec Chimney Rock mi sie bardziej podobalo od Asheville.

Baptism and Birthday Olympics

Last Saturday was Isaiah's birthday and he turned 8 years old!  At age eight children get baptized in our church if they have faith in Jesus Christ and if they are willing to follow His commandments.  Isaiah is full of faith and was very happy to be baptized by his Dad last Sunday.  Isaiah was also very happy to get  his very own set of scriptures from his Grandpa Stephen.

 

We had a very nice small baptism and a dinner at my house that my friend Ashley planned and organized.  She is an amazing planner and organizer, so I had a very good and relaxing time.

 

For his birthday, Isaiah invited 2 of his best friends from church, Kadyn and Camden.  We had a 7 hour party that included Olympics at the pool.  Josh organized races and diving competitions for the boys and he awarded them home-made gold medals.  Kadyn and Camden were excellent at doing synchronized dives, Samuel was the fastest swimmer and Isaiah could swim the longest under water.  Go figure, the asthmatic has the largest lung capacity.  Pretty Amazing. 

 

The boys rode on their scooter to and from the pool and Samuel and Camden crashed.  Samuel had no injuries, but Camden scraped his whole face knees and elbows.  I was terrified that I let a child get hurt under my supervision.  He was fine however and continued the day with us eating cake and ice cream, playing with legos, and of course, playing with the Ripclaw (our bird).

Chrzest i Olimpiada Urodzinowa

W Sobote Isaiah mail osme urodziny.  Jak dziecko ma 8 lat w naszym kosciele to moze byc ochrzczone jesli wierzy w Jezusa Chrystusa i chce przestrzegac Jego przykazan.  Isaiah ma bardzo duzo wiary i byl bardzo szczesliwy aby byc ochrzczony przez swojego Tatusia.  Isaiah tez byl bardzo ucieszony jak dziadek Stephen mu przyslal Pismo Swiete aby mial swoje osobiste.

 

Chrzest byl bardzo mily i duchowy, a po Chrzcie moja kolezanka Ashley zorganizowala obiad w moim domu dla 30 osob.  Ja nie lubie organizowac przyjec, bo zawsze czegos zapominam.  Moja kolerzanka ma prawdziwy talent organizowania przyjec wiec moj wieczor byl dla mnie bez stersu bo ona sie wszytkim zajela.

 

Na urodziny Isaiah zaprosil dwoch jego ulubionych kolegow, Kadyn i Camden na party do naszego domu.  Bawili sie razem przez 7 godzin.  Razem poszlismy na basen i tam Josh zorganizowal chopakom olimpiade i nawet rozdal im medale.  Samuel wygral bo najszybciej plywal.  Kadyn i Camden najlepiej nurkowali razem jako druzyna.  Nie wiem jak to sie mowi po Polksu jak nurkuja dwoje razem i musza dokladnie tak samo nurkowac.  Isaiah najdlurzej nie oddychal pod woda.  To naprawde cud bo on jedyny ma asthme a on tez ma nawieksza pojemnosc ploc. 

 

Po basenie wszycy chlopcy jedzili na hulajnogach.  Samuel sie przewrocil ale mu sie nic nie stalo.  Kolega Camden za to sie podkna o Samuela i twarza upadl na beton.  Bylam bardzo przejeta ze czyjes inne dziecko u nas sie pobilo. Zadzwonilam do rodzicow, ale Camden nie chcial isc do domu, wiec zostal z nami 3 jeszcze godziny i razem jedlismy ciasto, lody, otwieralismy prezenty.  Chloplcy tez bawili sie klockami lego i nasza malutka papuga.

Zalanczam zdjecia z chrztu.  Na jednym zdjeciu Isaiah jest z naszym biskupem Jason Claar.  Tez przesylam zdjecia z urodzinowej olimpiady, i tez jedno zdjecie z niektorymi naszymi przjacielmi w naszym domu.
