The Disney Cruise
Josh and the three boys just got home from the Disney Cruise in the Bahamas. I was very excited to send them on such a fun vacation. Here are some interesting facts about their cruise:
1. Everyone who works on the ship is an actor. If you pass a janitor in the hall or a man cleaning the pool, they smile, talk, and joke with you making you feel happy and important. This atmosphere is very contagious. When everyone is happy and smiling, you can't help but smile and be happy too.
2. A third of the people on board are the happy crew. They are from all over the world. All the workers have a name tag and the country they are from. They are all skinny and good looking. One of the youth counselors was Mr. Poland 1989.
3. Disney prides itself in entertaining potty trained kids, 3 and up, from 9am to midnight, everyday. So the adults can relax all day without kids. Josh could pick them up to take them to a fancy dinner. The last night they were there they were having so much fun that they didn't even want to go to dinner with him. So he went alone. The kids returned to the room each night after midnight.
4. One of the places they stopped was Castaway Cay in the Bahamas. It's Disney's private island where they even entertain the kids on the beach. When Josh wanted to take Nephi for an excursion, he did not want to go; he was simply having too much fun the Disney way. At Castaway Cay there is the real Pirates of the Caribbean Flying Dutchman ship that they dug up from the bottom of the sea.
5. Unlike on other cruises, soda, ice cream, and even room service are all included in your Cruise ticket.
6. Unlike on other cruises, on Disney there is no gambling and the adult areas are very separate from where the kids hang out. So you never see any drunks.
7. Every day when the room attendant cleans your room he leaves you some high quality chocolate and folds the towels in the shape of different animals. You can even take a class to learn how to do it yourself.
8. Your dinner servers follow you every night to the different restaurants that you eat at. Of course they remember your names and what you like and don't like. The food is great and every few minutes the server did magic tricks for the kids.
9. Except when going to dinner, everywhere on the ship you can walk around barefoot with only your shorts or swimsuit on. It's ultra casual and relaxing.
10.
The Disney cruise line is very fancy and very accommodating. You are surrounded by marble and luxury everywhere. The crew doesn't want you to worry about anything. If you lose a keycard, it's no problem they replace it within 30 seconds. If you lose a kid they find him/her within minutes. And it's all done with a smile…

Statek Turystyczny Disney
Jesli widzisz kogos kto sprazta dywan lub czysci basen, to zaraz do ciebie sie usmiechna, z toga pogadaja, i zartuja abys sie czul szczesliwy i wazny.
Wszyscy pracownicy sa przystojni i chudzi. Jeden pracownik co pracowal z dziecmi by Panem Polski 1989.
7. Codziennie jak ten kto sprzata ci pokoj przychodzi, to on zostawia smaczne czekoladki I sklada reczniki w rozne postacie zwierzat.
sie dostosowac to twoich potrzeb. Pracownicy nie chca abys sie on nic martwil. I jak ci w czyms pomagaja to zawsze sie usmiechaja…

That sounds amazing.. sign me up!
Did they even take pictures of the kids or did Josh do that? It sounds like an amazing time was had by all!
I started pricing Disney cruises as soon as we got home from our Not Disney vacation. The kids drove us insane and I was dreaming of a vacation where I could send them away for hours at a time and not feel guilty about it.
I was thinking of maybe going in December as a family Christmas present, but the cost that time of year is insane--nearly $950 per person (and that was through MouseSavers where they get you all the best discounts)!!
Brandi
when we went on the discount websites it was all too expensive too. it was actually cheaper through Disney because this year they have 50 percent off for the military. so for the 4 of them it was 1800 dollars, 1900 with tax, so roughly 450 per person. we made sure they didn't add the transportation to and from the airport and we did not get the vacation insurance which was several hundred dollars. what that is, is in case you can't make the cruise for some reason you get a refund. we took a risk and just made sure to be there.
Wow-that sounds like a fun vacation. I will have to keep it in mind for the future!!
Wow! I would love to go!
It's not my style to pay thousands for strangers to watch my kids, but it sounds amazing.
I have to say that when I took a cruise on a different line all of the food and room service was free. Perhaps times have changed, I don't know. The best part of a cruise, I thought, was the food. I didn't like the casual part cuz sometimes there's just too much of people wandering around in bathin g suits, if you know what I mean.
You've sold me . . . actually I have been sold on Disney Cruises for a long time. What a fun thing for your family!
Sylwia,
That cruise looks amazing. Look at the smiles on your boys faces. How cool. I bet a lot of memories were made on that vacation. So much fun. We are going to check that out for sure. How fun is that?
I'm feel bad for Josh cuz the boys didn't want to leave to have dinner with him. But yeah for such a wonderful vacation.
Sounds like everyone had the best time.
Thanks for the great idea
