Baby, Guns, Jericho/ Dziecko, Karabiny, Jericho

Baby, Guns, Jericho

January 30, 2009

After turning 35 and much deliberation, Josh and I decided to have our last baby.  Since Josh wakes up with hungry crying babies at night, and he has no chance of deployment for the next 2 years, we decided to have this baby ASAP.

I'm 9 weeks pregnant, due September 1, 2009.  I'm planning to have the baby August 31.  This will be my 5th c-section.  I'm terrified of the surgery, partly because I can feel pain during the procedure, and partly because of the drug, reglan, that makes me panic, which was administered to me the last 4 times.  I finally found out what it was, and you bet I'm going to skip it this time.

I'm feeling horrible; I lie on the bed or couch everyday moaning and complaining.  I no longer cook, clean, shop, leave the house; play with the kids, read, write, take pictures, or smile.

A friend gave me a Netflix membership to keep me company, but I'm mostly too sick to enjoy it.  I've only watched one show so far, but I have to say that it was excellent.  I like it more than 24 and Lost.  It's called Jericho, (season 1 and 2).  It's about what life in a small American town would be like if our country was hit with nuclear bombs.

Jericho has made me think about food and water storage, guns, and raising strong manly boys.  Our safe and organized society doesn't encourage men to be masculine and brave.  Since watching the show, I want Josh to buy some guns, and for all our boys to take some street fighting classes.  There really is a reason for the Second Amendment; who would have thought?

My favorite part of the show is Jericho Season 2.  It has more action and less human drama than the first season.  Plus, I like the military presence, and especially the role of Major Beck.  There is just something I like about military uniforms, discipline, order, and honorable military men…maybe I've been living on an army base too long.

P.S. Favorite books this week: Samuel's--Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Isaiah's--39 Clues by Rick Riordan.

Dziecko, Karabiny, Jericho

To bedzie moje piate cesarskie ciecie.

Najbardziej z "Jericho" mi sie podobal drugi sezon.  Choc byl krotszy mial wiecej aktcji i mniej dramatu.

I watched the first half of season 1 of Jericho. I liked it--I can't remember why I stopped watching. I didn't even realize there was a season 2.

You can tell Samuel that I also love Ender's Game.

Sick again, huh! I know that's always been hard on you and yours. I admire you going for it again even though you knew what you were in for! I'm so happy for you having another! I remember you saying you might be done with four but I think odd numbers are always better. :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy - - though sorry you are so sick! I also get really sick when I am pregnant- and the only thing that would really cheer me up is the thought that at least I am sick for a purpose, and will get something out of it! I am not just throwing up for nothing . . . Hopefully it will pass soon for you. We have been trying to get pregnant since last summer - - but it isn't happening. Maybe God knows I wouldn't be able to handle it during Jon's residency (or at least this part of it). Anyway- you are strong and will live through it!

Congratulations on your pregnancy, Sylwia! That's exciting for you and your family. I hope that you get feeling better, I'm sure it is really difficult to manage all that you do and be so sick. Best wishes!

Sorry you are so sick. There is nothing worse than feeling completely exhausted and nauseated with sickness and having no energy to do anything. You need to try taking vitamin B6 and half a unisom at night before you go to bed. That TOTALLY helped me with my nausea especially in the mornings. I took it with all three of my kids and it didn't take the nausea completely away, but it made it more managable so that I could do stuff.

Have you asked your OB for a prescription for Zofran? It's an anti-nausea medication. You should ask Josh about it if Sarah's B6/Unisom concoction doesn't work.

What a beautiful little girl... I have 4 brothers and was the only girl and still turned out feminine enough, but I do love my sports!
